Back in 2014, this was my first painting in over 25 years and after many moons of only dreaming of the time I'd start painting again. I referenced a photograph I took at Rotary Park in Milton, Ontario in the Fall of

I painted the sky and clouds first and then moved onto the leaves and lastly the trunk and branches. It was with this painting that I fell in love with the process. The excitement of creating the colour palette, the clouds and the overall piece both thrilled and frightened me as an artist. I learned much about my interests, my love for both broad strokes and details and my heart for Canadian landscapes.
