Way back when I first started painting, I used beautiful photos I found on the internet as reference. This particular painting was stylized after a stunning photo by Christopher Seufert titled "Cape Cod Snow Fence". You can find Christopher Seufert online at: www.capecodphoto.net

This was my first beach painting and what struck me as beautiful in Christopher’s photo was the high-contrast shadow play across the sand with the deep blue Atlantic ocean spanning the horizon. I particularly remember loving the process of painting the seasoned fence with it’s driftwood colours - - greys and tans and browns.
